 | And the HMSA Kaimana Award goes to... Parker School has earned first place honors from Hawaii Medical Service Association’s (HMSA) annual Kaimana Awards for the fifth year in row. Big Island schools are placed in the large or small division based on student enrollment and earn points throughout the school year based on student participation in athletics, academic performance, sportsmanship, healthy activities and community service. Parker’s first place win in the small school division earned them a $1,500 award in support of the school’s athletics program. | | |  | Head of School Search Update Parker School is getting ready to say good-bye to our leader of 17 years, Dr. Carl Sturges, and hello to a new leader to take us into the future. Dr. Sturges will be retiring at the end of June 2020. We are grateful for Dr. Sturges’ unwavering vision, and commitment to Parker School. Congratulations to our Powerlifting team who competed at Sonny's 5th Annual Hawaii Island Lifting Championships in Hilo. All lifters qualified for WABDL competition to be held in Las Vegas in November, and five state records were set in bench press and deadlift by Freya Buxton, Leiani Hurtado-Bennet (in both categories), Taiga Okada, and Erica Yost. | | | |
Our girls’ tennis team is headed to the championships! With a win over HPA in the final match of the season, they secured the fourth and final seed in the BIIF team championships. For the first time in Parker history our girls' tennis team will head to the Holua Tennis Center in Keauhou to face three D1 schools for the team title. Congrats to the team and their coaches for this accomplishment and for a fabulous season. | | | |
